Swearing in of new firefighter/paramedics
The board will formally swear in Matt Fortune, Matthew Salomonson, and Elliot Kreuz as firefighter/paramedics.
May proclamations and electronic meeting attendance policy
The Village President will issue proclamations for Drinking Water Week, Small Business Week, Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Mental Health Awareness Month, National Bike Month, Older Americans Month, Physical Fitness and Sports Month, and Slow Mow May. The board will also consider a resolution updating the village's policy on electronic meeting attendance to reflect changes to the Illinois Open Meetings Act.
Consent agenda: infrastructure, public safety, and operations
Infrastructure items include a 2026 sidewalk replacement contract with Schroeder & Schroeder, Inc., crack sealing with Patriot Pavement Maintenance Inc., engineering for storm sewer and roadway improvements on Koepke Road from Pfingsten Road to Miller Road, and planting 260 parkway trees through the Suburban Tree Consortium. Water treatment plant work covers replacing drain valves, gearboxes, and actuators for Filters 2 and 3, original to the plant's 1963 section, along with purchasing sodium hypochlorite, liquid aluminum sulfate, liquid chlorine, and hydrofluorosilicic acid to meet Illinois EPA standards. A grant-funded rapid deployable emergency barrier system will be purchased jointly with the Village of Wheeling, and Fire Department items include NIPSTA training, a uniform contract extension with Today's Uniforms, Inc., and a turnout gear contract extension through February 28, 2027. Other consent items include vacating a portion of a public alley adjacent to 2219 Chestnut Street, a reimbursement resolution for future bond financing for the Fleet Maintenance Garage and Fire Station 11, transferring the development agreement for a Proximo Padel facility at 2985 Shermer Road to a new ownership entity, and changing an economic incentive agreement for Hometown Coffee Northbrook LLC at 1290 Shermer Road from a loan to a sales tax rebate.
Mariano's gas station proposal (784 Skokie Boulevard)
Roundy's Supermarkets, Inc. (Mariano's) is seeking an amendment to its special permit for a planned development and site plan approval to construct a fuel sales facility in the parking lot of its grocery store at 784 Skokie Boulevard, adjacent to Dundee Road (Plan Commission Docket No. PCD-25-18).
Annual Fee Ordinance update
The board will consider an ordinance updating the village's Annual Fee Ordinance, which consolidates all village fees and charges into a single schedule and is presented each year in advance of the new fiscal year.
Hi-Five Sports: zoning text amendment for industrial district
Hi-Five Sports Clubs North Shore LLC is requesting a zoning code text amendment that would allow physical fitness facilities in I-1 Restricted Industrial Districts throughout the village, along with special permits for a facility at 3451–3453 Commercial Avenue. The board will conduct a preliminary review.
