Fourth of July Celebration
Northbrook's annual celebration on Saturday, July 4 opens with the Liberty Loop 5K Run/Walk at 7:30 a.m. and the Liberty Lap Fun Run at 8:30 a.m., followed by the parade beginning on Cherry Lane west of Westmoor School at 4 p.m. DJ Entertainment at the Velodrome starts at 7 p.m., with fireworks at dusk. Fourth of July Road Closures
"No Parking" restrictions take effect Saturday, July 4 in designated areas for both the parade and fireworks. Full road closures begin at 2 p.m.
Waukegan Road Patching Rescheduled for July 8–9
Roadway patching near 1000 Waukegan Road (Crestwood Place) moves to Wednesday, July 8 and Thursday, July 9, starting at 8 a.m. each day. Work will permanently repair a temporary patch from last winter's water main break, closing the right northbound lane and reducing traffic to one northbound lane via barricades, cones, and arrow boards. The road is expected to fully reopen by approximately 3 p.m. on July 9; questions can be directed to Facilities Manager Daniel Juarez at 847-272-4711.
New Business Licenses
LifeTime Fitness at 1300 Techny Rd. and Rescue Plumbing at 1935 Shermer Rd., #200 Unit 1 both received business licenses this week. Rescue Plumbing will perform residential and commercial plumbing and sewer work. Year-to-date licensing and development information, including 2026 commercial building permits and projects under review, is available on the Village website.
Grand Prix Volunteers Needed
Volunteers are needed for the 2026 Northbrook Grand Prix on Thursday, July 23. Residents can sign up through the volunteer registration form linked in the report.
